Obituary
William M. Wilkins, age 92, peacefully passed away on June 28, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family and friends. He was born in Madisonville, KY on March 19,1932, and lived a spirited and joyous life.
William’s early years were marked by his love for baseball, family, and hamburgers. After graduating from High School, he bravely served in the Navy during the Korean War, officially as a gunner but also as a talented catcher for the Navy baseball team.
Following his military service, William pursued his passion for architecture, studying at Western Kentucky University. He later taught drafting classes there after earning his master’s degree. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Linda Reynolds, whom he married in 1959. Together, they raised three energetic boys and made their home in Bowling Green, KY before relocating to North Palm Beach, FL 1972.
In North Palm Beach, William thrived as a residential architect and immersed himself in community activities. He coached little league baseball, mentored in the Boy Scouts of America, and taught architectural drafting at Palm Beach Junior College. His love for music in church choir and singing brought happiness to many.
William had a remarkable sext for life and a heart full of love. He liked to say that love is like jam- you can’t spread it without getting a little on you. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a source of joy for all who knew him.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Lina, their three sons (Max, Neal, Lee) and a host of grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy.
A memorial service to celebrate William’s life will be held on July 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Ocean View Methodist Church, 701 Ocean Dr, North Palm Beach, FL 33408, followed by reception.
