There are two times when burial and funeral planning may occur, either before a passing has occurred (pre-need) or after a passing has occurred (at-need). There are distinct emotional and financial advantages and disadvantages to both pre-need and at-need planning. Regardless of when the final planning decisions are made and put in place, it is always better to gather information and to outline one’s final wishes sooner rather than later.
