Obituary

Tharsilla Christine Stanton, age 68, passed away September 23, 2021. She was born September 14, 1953, in Ionia, Michigan. Tharsilla graduated from Portland High School, and worked for the State of Michigan, Department of Social Services. Tharsilla enjoyed decorating cakes, sewing, embroidery, quilting, wintering in Florida and doing charity work for the hospital in Florida.

Surviving are: her husband, Gary Stanton; son, David (Amber) Stanton; daughter, Christine (Greg) Gooden; grandchildren, Lillian, Kaitlin, David, William, Brooklyn and Haiden; sisters, Deborah (Carl) Collin, Diana (Jerry Jr.) Vincent, and Janice (Don) Ransom. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Jean McQuarrie; and by siblings, Dorothy Paudrea and Kenneth VanDamme.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Tharsilla Stanton.
