Obituary

Sarah “Jane” Allen Evans passed away peacefully on the 13th of November 2024. Jane, which she preferred to be called, was born in Lawrence County Indiana on June 18,1929. She was one of 13 children born to Frank and Molly Moriah Allen.
Jane graduated from Huron High School in 1946, and met her future husband, James William Evans, shortly thereafter and married on February 14th, 1948. They were blessed with two children, Vicki Lynn, born in 1950 and Janes Douglas, born in 1952. Jane spent the majority of her working career with Allisons/Detroit Diesel and eventually retired from Allisons.
Jane and her husband were members of Westside Church of the Nazarene for more than 50 years, where they served in various capacities including many years of volunteer service with Shepherd Community food bank. Jane thoroughly enjoyed traveling and took many wonderful trips with her husband, family and friends. The highlight of their travels was a trip to Isreal where they were able to see and experience the placeswhere Jesus had walked and lived.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, James William Evans and her daughter, Vicki Lynn Evans-Vasseur. She is survived by her son James Douglas Evans, his wife Cheryl Ann Evans, Jane’s brother Lester Franklin Allen, grandchildrenAnnette Boyajian, John Vasseur, Jennifer Harrington, Cameron Vasseur, Ryan Evans, Ashley Brammer, Morgan Norton. Jane also had 14 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Services for Jane will take place on Monday November 25th at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Viewing is from 12:30-1:30PM with the funeral service at 1:30PM.
