Obituary

Robert (Bob) Lee Mearns, Jr., 76, of Port Orange, Florida was called home by the Lord on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Halifax Hospital after growing unexpectedly ill. Bob was born to Robert Lee Mearns, Sr. and Virginia Ann (Paulillo) Mearns on January 17, 1948, in Weehawken, New Jersey.

He will live on through the loving memories of his family: his children, Melissa Ohlmacher, Jennifer Denson, and Jason Mearns; his step-son, Bill Drexler; his sister Leann Debolt; and his children-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and many others whose lives he touched and whom touched his.

He dedicated most of his working years to the banking industry, retiring from Suntrust, and enjoyed an active lifestyle throughout his life. He was an avid sports enthusiast with a fun loving, competitive nature. Sports were always a part of his life, from basketball in his younger years, to tennis, golf, pickle ball, and passion for dancing. He will truly be missed by so many and will live in our hearts forever.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the church Bob found peace in attending, Tomoka Christian Church Ormond Beach, Florida.
