Obituary
Robert L. Cassel was born March 22, 1940, Bob was the youngest of nine children born to George R. and Mamie L. Cassel. Bob died early Sunday morning, November 27, 2022, at the age of 82, after a brief battle with cancer.
Bob graduated from Stoney Creek High School in 1958 and lived his entire life south of Parker City. Bob followed in his father's footsteps and was a lifelong farmer in Randolph County. He especially enjoyed his antique tractors and lunching with his friends at the Legion. Bob frequented local car racetracks and volunteered his time and equipment mowing the Randolph County Antique Club Fairgrounds.
Beside his parents, Bob is preceded in death by brother Harold Cassel and wife Betty, brother Donnie Cassel and wife Adelene, sister Arlene McCarty and husbands George Swingley, Brad Bradbury, and Ken McCarty, sister Delores Morris and husband Bill, sister Rosabelle Cassel, sister Betty Chalfant and husband Dick, brothers-in-law Edward Helm and Sam Shaffer, and nephew Paul Swingley.
Bob is survived by two sisters, Jacqueline Helm (Carmel) and Shirley Shaffer (Noblesville), several cousins, twelve nieces and nephews, several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, neighbors and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday December 8, 2022 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N SR 3, Muncie, Indiana, with funeral services immediately following at 1:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Timothy Helm. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Bob's honor to the Randolph County Antique Tractor Club, c/o Larry Fields, 1447 South St Rd 1, Farmland, In 47340
