Obituary

Roberta "Bobbi" J. Swatts, Greenfield, IN, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024. She was 83 years old. Bobbi was born in Indianapolis, IN to her parents Charles and Cecelia Pottorff. She graduated from Arsenal Tech High School. Bobbi married the love of her life, Arthur “Art” Swatts, on February 11, 1961, and they shared 62 years of marriage together until Art passed away on April 4, 2023.  
Bobbi worked in the applications department for USA Group (later known as Sally Mae) for over fifteen years and retired in 2002. Bobbi enjoyed crafting, quilting, crocheting, sewing, and knitting; she often attended craft fairs and creative Greenfield Senior Center gatherings. Bobbi was a breast cancer survivor; she was very active in the community and rarely missed the opportunity to participate in the Race for the Cure walk. Bobbi loved animals and thoroughly enjoyed raising several beloved dogs during her life. Bobbi and Art enjoyed travelling together and sharing the stories of their journeys with their loved ones. Bobbi loved to take pictures of her family; in doing so, she has left a great legacy of family albums for her family to now enjoy and reflect upon. Bobbi loved celebrating the Christmas Season with her family and friends and housed a wonderful collection of Hallmark ornaments throughout the holiday season. Bobbi loved to spend time with her family, especially the grandchildren. She will lovingly be remembered as a supportive mother and friend who will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.  
Bobbi is survived by her children, Pam (Jeff) Jenkins, Cheryl (Eric) Boarman, Joyce (Al) Kessel, and Steve (Maria) Swatts; her grandchildren, Chris and Kelli Jenkins, Blake Mason, Eric and Warren Adams, Ryan Strohm, Amanda Price; her great grandchildren, Miles and Eli Jenkins, Emma, Isaiah, Joel and Everly Adams, Jackson and Luca Price, Keely and Kamryn Strohm, and Noa Mason;  
Bobbi is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur “Art” Swatts. 
A visitation for Bobbi will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The funeral service will be on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 12:00 pm.
