Obituary
Mr. Richard E. Yasechko, 93, of Uniontown, passed away on
Monday, December 2, 2024 at the Uniontown Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Uniontown on July 13, 1931 to the late Jospeh
and Emma Saltrick Yasechko.
Richard graduated from Fairchance-Georges Township High School.
He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Nativity Church in
Uniontown.
Richard was the owner and operator of Richards Tavern in
Uniontown for many years.
Electronically gifted, he enjoyed building jukeboxes,
televisions, remote control drones, model cars and model airplanes which he
enjoyed flying with his good friends.
Richard is survived by a brother, Charles Yasechko of
Smithfield; special niece and caregiver, Charlene Smochinsky of Uniontown; and the
following nieces and nephews, George and Carol Kovach of Iowa, Carolyn and
Albert “Butchie” Yasechko of Uniontown, Pat and Bob Mayllen of Smock, Maureen
and Marty Reymann of Ohio, Bobby and Mary Yasechko of Ohio, Ronnie Yasechko of
Ohio, Chuckie Yasechko and Cheryl Kurosky of Smithfield, John and Rose
Smochinsky of McClellandtown; special neighbors Amber Sproul and family of
Uniontown; and best friend, Bob Jordan of Uniontown.
He was preceded in death by four siblings, Elizabeth Kovach,
Albert Yasechko, Joseph “Sonny” Yasechko, and Josephine Smochinsky; and sister-in-law,
Mary Ann Yasechko.
Visitation will be held at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home,
603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401 on Monday, December 9th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday,
December 10th at 10 AM at St. Mary Nativity Church, 61 N. Mt. Vernon
Ave., Uniontown, PA 15401.
Interment is in Mt. St. Macrina Cemetery.
