Raymond G. Griffin

January 28th, 1941 - December 27th, 2024

Obituary

Raymond Garvin Griffin, age 83, was born in Tifton, Georgia on January 28, 1941. He returned to his creator Friday, December 27, 2024; he succumbed to the effects of advanced dementia.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorian Hancock; his parents, Clarence Wright Griffin and Maude Ester Griffin; his sister, Dorothy Ann Pickard; and his brother, Bobby Wright Griffin.

Raymond is survived by his son, David Scott Griffin; his two granddaughters, Zoe Racco-Griffin and Mila Racco-Griffin; his great-granddaughter, Atley Luna Racco-Griffin; his two brothers, Ronnie and Donnie Griffin; and his numerous nieces and nephews.

Raymond served in the Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, where he served as the crew chief for the F105 bomber jet. He eventually found his niche in the automobile business, where he was a successful salesman and inventory control manager. Raymond and Dorian spent their retirement years traveling the globe. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with his beloved family.

Our hearts are broken but we are at peace knowing he’s at home with those who went on before him.
