Paul R. DelVitto, from Port Orange Florida, passed away on
Friday October 11, 2024 at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Florida.
Paul was born in New Eagle PA on March 27, 1943 to the late Raymond DelVitto
and Frances Balliard DelVitto and is survived by his wife Theresa (Cremeans)
DelVitto and his “shining star” granddaughter Natalia Wohar Tapsak (Fr.
Nathaniel), great granddaughter Irena Tapsak, Grandson Nathan Wohar.
Survivors also include sisters Jane DelVitto and Marilyn DelVitto Raytek
(Albert) and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Paul graduated from Mon Valley Catholic High School in 1961. He worked at
West Penn Power and Mitchell Station before he went to the Army. He served in the U. S. Army, in Vietnam
with the 23rd Infantry Division, Americal, 1/6 Infantry, 198th Light
Infantry
Brigade from 23 September 1966 to 13 September 1969. He then worked at Mathies Mine until the mine
closed. Paul then moved to Carlisle PA where he worked as a mechanic for the
city of Carlisle until he retired.
Paul was a life time member of ARROAS Haymaker Association
253 1/2 in his hometown
of New Eagle PA. He was an active member
of the American Legion in Mt. Holly PA , became the Post Commander of VFW
Post 422 in Carlisle PA, and then became an active member of the VFW Post 3282
in Port Orange FL.
In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude’s Children’s
Hospital or VFW Post 3282 in Port Orange FL.
Paul was a member of the Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in
Port Orange Florida where services will be held on Saturday October 26, 2024 at
11:00 am.
