Obituary

Patricia A. Bird, 89, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024. She was born on July 3, 1935, in Muncie, Indiana, to parents Delmo and Lucile McKinley.
Patricia was the beloved wife of Bill Bird, with whom she shared many wonderful years of love and companionship. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who brought joy and warmth to her family and friends.
A proud graduate of Yorktown High School, Patricia pursued her academic ambitions by earning both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Ball State University. An avid quilter, Patricia found joy and creativity in piecing together beautiful works of art. She also enjoyed beadwork, puzzles, and flower arranging, and gardening; hobbies that reflected her patience and artistic spirit. Additionally, she loved bowling and treasured the camaraderie it brought.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Pam Clinch; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Bird Waldron (husband, Peter Waldron); grandsons, William Clinch and Michael Bird (spouse, Andrew Bonfiglio); siblings, Lela Highley and Frances Atkins; and several nieces and nephews. 
Patricia is preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Bill Bird; parents, Delmo and Lucile McKinley; sons, Jerry Bird and Michael Bird; and brother, James McKinley.
Family and friends may call at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N St. Rd. 3, Muncie IN 47303, on Friday, January 17th, 2025 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM. The Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM with Pastor Josh Johnson officiating at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Garden View Funeral Home; online condolences can be made at www.gardenviewandgardensofmemory.com.
