Obituary

Michael Clifford Frische, Indianapolis, IN passed away on the early morning of Wednesday, January 1, 2025. He was 71 years old.

Michael was born in Valparaiso, IN to his parents Donald Henry and Helen Jean Frische. He graduated from Michigan City High School in three years and went on to study at Valparaiso University. Michael earned his bachelor’s degree and attended law school to earn his Juris Doctorate Degree in Law. Michael married his wife, Linda (Griffey), on October 27, 1984, and together they shared 40 years of marriage.

Michael worked as a Pro Se Attorney for the United States Federal Courts and retired in 2017 after 37 years of service. Michael was distinguished in his field and believed in the courts system wholeheartedly. He was a member of the Marion County Bar Association. Michael was a lifelong devoted Lutheran alongside his wife. Michael enjoyed reading and learning new things; he often studied American history with a special interest in war history. Many family vacations included trips to famous battlefields. During his free time, Michael enjoyed listening to audiobooks and the police scanner. He was a man with an elevated vocabulary and was known to speak in the “King’s English.” Michael was a stubborn, lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks despite his family’s preferences. He was also known to bestow nicknames on everyone and everything. Michael loved dogs and raised several beloved furry friends. He will be remembered for his intelligence, modest mindset, and goofy personality. Michael will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.

Michael is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Shane Bauerle, Natalie (Joshua) Kemmerling, Christopher (Fallon) Frische, Gabriel (Madison) Frische, and Sarah Frische; his grandchildren, Joselyn, Braelyn, and Wrigley; his brother, Mark Frische; his dog, Murphy; his grand dogs, Odie, Rucker, Harleigh, Ruby, Lucy, and Walter.
