Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melanie Jane Hober, who left us on August 9th, 2024 at the age of 83. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Don, her mother Bertha Muldoon, her father Edward James McDonnell, and her brother James Muldoon. Melanie is survived by her children Mark (Karen) Hober and Darius (Nopawan) Hober, her sister Carol Ann Nowicki and her brother Charles Muldoon. Melanie was a devoted grandmother, leaving behind her beloved 5 granddaughters and 3 great grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories and love between them. One of Melanie’s greatest legacies is her nurturing role as a mother to her granddaughter, Megan Tanturri, whom she raised as her own. From the earliest days of Megan’s life, Melanie and Don provided a home filled with unconditional love, traditions, warmth, and unwavering support. Her love shaped Megan’s life profoundly, and their bond was a testament to Melanie’s remarkable capacity for love and care. In addition to her family, she leaves a lasting impression to many loving friends who were fortunate to know and enjoy her.
A passionate educator, Melanie dedicated her life to teaching and inspiring knowledge in others. She made a big impact on her students throughout the years. Her love for her Catholic faith was evident in her dedication and being an active member in the church and ministries. She had a passion for horses and dogs that was well-known, and she loved caring for and enjoying their company. She was the queen of a well-made Grey Goose martini and a hearty laugh. She had a zest for life that was just as spunky as she was. Her profound appreciation for a good joke and her desire to be with her family were a testament to her personality. If you knew her well, you knew she found the joy in the simple pleasures of a good scratch-off and an e-cigarette.
Her memory will be cherished forever and the countless ways she touched the lives of those around her. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends who were blessed to love her.
In her memory, let us celebrate her life with the same joy and humor that she shared with all of us. A memorial service will be held on August 31st at 11:00 am at The Aberdeen Clubhouse located at 50 Allwood Green Blvd, Ormond Beach Fl 32174.
