Obituary
Maxine Joan (Kummer) Foltz, age 95, peacefully passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 15, at Ball Hospital in Muncie. She was surrounded by her husband, kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and pastor. Maxine was born on November 26, 1929, in Poneto, Indiana, the second to the youngest of the fifteen children of Samuel and Clarissa (Merritt) Kummer. She graduated from Bluffton High School in 1947 and moved to Muncie to get a job in 1949, where she met her husband Robert Foltz. They were married on December 29, 1951.
Maxine was a full-time homemaker and also volunteered for 23 years at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was a committed follower of Jesus Christ and attended Grace Baptist Church, where she was active in Caleb’s Kin. She enjoyed studying her Bible, was thankful to the Lord for her family, and was grateful that Jesus Christ died for her sins. Maxine’s hobbies included bowling, skating, square dancing, working outdoors in her flowers, walking, and attending the activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents and her fourteen siblings. She is survived by Robert, her husband of nearly 73 years, her children Judy Myers, Gary (and Maryann) Foltz, Bruce (and Toni) Foltz, and Kim Foltz, her grandchildren Heather (Adam) Phillips, Brett (Mindy) Foltz, Brittany (Miggy) Cabrera, Hannah (Tim) Ashton, Hillary (Kevin) Rhodes, and Haley (Kyle) Sutton, and her great grandchildren Spencer Phillips, Baylie, Brayden, Brody, and Briahanna Foltz, Madelyn Cabrera, Reagan, Lincoln, Elliot, and Emerson Ashton, Jack, Amelia, and Zara Rhodes, Hazel, Hattie, and Harper Sutton, her sister-in-law Barbara Slusher, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call at Grace Baptist Church, on Saturday, December 21st, 2024 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. The Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Rory Bond officiating at Grace Baptist Church.
