Obituary
Mrs.
Mary Renz (Parker) passed away suddenly on July 18, 2024, in Tampa, Florida at
the age of 81.
Mary
is survived by her son, Leo Renz and her daughter in law Tami
Renz, her siblings, Jackie Parker, Catherine Fennell,
Margaret Dieckhoff, Ann Smith, Elaine Parker, and Carol Grzybowski, her
grandchildren Ashlie Cleaver, Kristin Renz, and Julia Howard, along with her
Great Grandchildren Maddox and Millie Cleaver, Lily and Zoey Tillman, Levi
Howard and Elijah Lindenschmidt. She is preceded in death by her parents Anna
and Everette Parker, her brother Tom Parker, her husband Leopold Renz and her
daughter Helen Renz.
Mary
was born on May 8th, 1943, in Queens, New York. She graduated from Grover
Cleavland High School in 1961. She married Leopold Renz, an honorable
Marine, in 1964 after meeting at a local movie theater. After moving to East
Brunswick, New Jersey, Mary began working for East
Brunswick High School as a guidance secretary. The couple welcomed two children
into their home, her son remembers her as a kind, patient and driven mother
who lived for her family.
Mary
was accomplished at her job as a guidance secretary where she retired after
almost 30 years of service. She was a generous individual who
loved helping her family and friends in need. Mary enjoyed shopping, drinking
coffee (especially if it was Starbucks), and spending time with her
grandchildren and taking them on adventures. She also enjoyed butterflies and
gardening. Mary was an active and dedicated member of her community who
touched many peoples lives.
A
mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday August 16th at Resurrection Catholic Church, 6819 Krycul Ave, Riverview, FL 33578 with
a funeral to follow at Sarasota National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. All are welcome to
attend and celebrate Mary's life.
