Obituary

Marie K. Swick, 60, of Brandon passed away, December 29, 2024.

She received her Bachelors degree at Erskine College, where she was inducted into the sports hall of fame for pitching in softball. She earned Master’s degree in Education from University of South Florida.  She spent over 30 years teaching special education. Marie was an avid gardener, lover of animals and was a fan of women’s college softball.

Marie is survived by her husband, Hank Swick, Jr; brother, Eugene (Mary Jane) Will; cousins, Penny, Donnie, Keith and Lawrence; aunt, Edith Layton; niece, Michelle; nephew, Christopher.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 11am to 1pm at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview, FL 33578.  A memorial service will follow at 1pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SPCA.
