Obituary

Lois Ann Murray Banner, 88, of Dinwiddie County, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 14, 2023. Born in Flag Pond, Tennessee on October 7, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Harvey C. Murray and Bessie Adkins Murray. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, COL Thomas Alvin Banner, USA (Ret.), and her brother, Jack Murray.
While her husband served in the United States Army, Lois was a dedicated Army wife. Her unwavering support and devotion to her husband's career were evident in everything she did for her family. She was also a very active member of the Officer's Wives Club, where she made countless friendships and participated in numerous activities and events. She was always “dressed to impress,” and well-known for her classy sense of style, infectious smile, and sense of humor.
She is survived by her children, Brian Banner (Debbie), and Judy Archambault (José); grandchildren, Justin and Chris Banner (Jessica), and James (Stephanie), Josh (Amanda), and Jordan Archambault (Rose); and great-grandchildren, Jonah, Abraham, Abel, Natalie, and Ellalyn.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Crater Road Chapel, 3935 S. Crater Road Petersburg, Virginia 23805. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road S. Prince George, Virginia 23805. The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the funeral home.
