Obituary

Larry D. Avey, age 62, of State College, died Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Born April 14,1962 in Spangler PA, he was the son of Robert and Alice Avey.

Larry grew up in Boalsburg, PA and attended State College Area High School. He lived for many years in Denver, CO before moving to Little River, SC and eventually returning to State College.

Larry was a voracious reader and was seldom seen without his Kindle in hand. He was an avid football fan who loved the Steelers, Broncos, and of course the Nittany Lions.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Jimmy, Richard, Allen, Alice and Glenn. He is survived by his sisters, Bonnie (Avey) Twymon of Pearland, TX, and Jill (Avey) Oakley (Don) of Sunset Beach, NC.

Services are private per the family's request. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the Haky/Georgiana Centre County Funeral Home. An online guest book may be signed and condolences left for the family at www.hakygeorgianafh.com
