Obituary

Keelie Kay Burkett, Indianapolis, IN, passed away from natural instant causes on Friday, November 15, 2024. She was 33 years old. Keelie was born in Indianapolis, IN to her parents Julie (Baker) and Jeffrey Allen. She graduated from Perry Meridian High School, class of 2009. Keelie married her husband, Jimmy “J.” Burkett, on May 22, 2016, and they shared 8 years of marriage together.  
Keelie owned a business, Click Treat Repeat, and worked in her business as a professional dog trainer for the last eight years. Keelie was a passionate dog and animal lover that raised a plethora of dogs during her life including her beloved, Timber, Styx, Tundra, and Rodeo. Keelie was a lifelong Christian. Keelie fostered many interests and passions during her life including equestrianism, traveling, fishing, hiking, biking and music. Keelie had attended 35 concerts in the last year alone; music held a special place in her heart and fueled her free and fun living spirit. Keelie and her husband J. had the opportunity to travel the United States for a year allowing her to visit several interesting places and make priceless memories. Keelie loved being an aunt; she was known to put together elaborate activities and presents for her beloved nieces and nephews. Keelie loved to decorate for holidays, especially Christmas. Helping others and being a loving friend was a top priority for Keelie, and she will be dearly missed for her adventurous spirit by those she leaves behind. 
Keelie is survived by her husband, J. Burkett; her mother, Julie (Mike Lee) Baker Allen; parents-in-law, Jim and Michelle Burkett; her grandparents, Jerry and Martie Baker; her siblings, Connor (Sharon) Allen and Eryn (Spencer) Mielke; her grandmother-in-law, Jeanie Sparks; her aunt, Beth May; her nieces and nephews, Renee and Sawyer; her cousin, Rileigh May; her sister-in-law, Katie (Matthew) Imburgia. 
Keelie is preceded in death by her father, Jeffrey Allen; her grandfather, Gene Allen; her grandfather-in-law, Cecil Sparks.  
A visitation for Keelie will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Doxa Bible Church (5905 E. Southport Rd, Indianapolis, IN, 46237) from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will be on November 23, 2024, at the church at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at a later date. 
  

Donations

The family has continued in Keelie’s generous footsteps by donating all supplies from Keelie’s dog training business to dogs in need. For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family suggests that donations be sent to Far Fetched Dog Rescue and Hoosier Dog Rescue.
