In Memory
Joseph (Joe) Slawitschka
February 6, 1939 to January 1, 2023
Joseph Slawitschka, 83, passed away, peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on January 1, 2023.  He is survived by his love of 61 years, Anneliese, son Gary, daughter-in-law Maureen, daughter Lora, and grandsons Gerhardt and Kurt.
Born in Satnica, Croatia and raised in Graz, Austria, Joe immigrated to the United States via Chicago, IL in 1956, with his mother, Maria, and brothers Paul and Rudi.  Joe returned to Austria and married his love, Anneliese, and they were married in 1961.  In 1971, Joe moved his family to Ouray, CO where he was a successful businessman and operated the Ouray Chalet Inn until 2001.
Joe was an ambitious, hard working man that loved the outdoors.  Tending to his grass, flowers and trees were his passion.
A Memorial will be held January 7, 2023 at 10:30 AM, Forest Hills Memorial, Palm City, FL.  In lieu of flowers, consider planting a tree or flowers in memory of Joe.
