In Loving Memory of

Jolene M Flo

January 4th, 1963 - January 4th, 2024

Obituary

Jolene Flo passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024, at home with her favorite nurse (her daughter) present. Jolene was born on January 4, 1963, in Utica, NY to the late Joseph Flo and Angela Trevsani Flo.
Jolene’s two children, Freddie and Amanda, were her whole world. She was a single mother who worked many jobs to provide her children a comfortable life and her famous epic Christmases filled with mountains of gifts and even more love. With support from her amazing parents, she raised “a doctor and a nurse”, as she would boldly tell anyone who would listen. She was beyond proud of them.
Of the many jobs she had in her life, Jolene had a knack for caring for the sick and elderly. Her big, beautiful heart was really able to shine in those times, as she developed lifelong friendships with the families of the people she so lovingly cared for. This is the epitome of who Jolene was. This trait is how her children learned to treat others, both personally and professionally. Her kindness and compassion are her legacy.
Jolene lived with her daughter, who she affectionately called “baby girl”. She was most at peace when she was hanging out with Amanda – playing cards, watching tv, and just enjoying each other’s company.  Amanda cared for her around the clock for the past few years through her illness and as it progressed. Jolene loved and appreciated her beyond measure.
Her favorite title was “Gramma”. Her three grandchildren always made her laugh. She adored them and loved to chat with them on FaceTime while they would play or do their homework. The day after her passing, on her grandson’s birthday, they spotted a red cardinal in a tree in front of their house. They have no doubt that it was Gramma Jolene saying hello and letting us know she is at peace.
Jolene is survived by her two very best friends: her mother Angela Flo, and her daughter, Amanda Flo; her son and daughter-in-law, Freddie and Michelle Flo, and her three cherished grandchildren – Santino, Avianna, and Gianina; her brothers and sisters-in-law Joe and Jessie Flo; her “baby brother” Jeff, with whom she shared a special bond, and Jennifer Flo; and her nieces and nephews: Samantha (and Patrick) Ryan, Kristina (and Bryan) Koski, Nick Flo, and Jordan (and Angie) Flo. She is also survived by her precious godmother and favorite person, Vinnie Rocci.
Jolene’s absence leaves an even greater impression than her presence, and anyone who knew her knows that speaks volumes. She will be forever missed by the ones she loved the most.
