Obituary
James F. Stramat, 61, of Uniontown, PA, passed away in the
evening on Thursday December 19, 2024 at home in the arms of his loving wife.
He was born on August 7, 1963, son of the late Frank J. and
Mary Lou (Mays) Stramat.
Jim married Stefanie Riba on May 17, 1986 in Uniontown at
St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his
oldest brother, Thomas J. Stramat; granddaughter, Harley Jean Kessler;
mother-in-law Ruth Ann Riba; and brother-in-law Ronald Pisano.
He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church where he
served as a Eucharistic Minister. In his youth, he was an alter server at St.
Cecelia’s Church.
Jim was a graduate of Laurel Highlands, class of 1981. After
graduating, he went on to study at Triangle Tech. Though the company changed names multiple
times, he worked at company now known at Alstrum for thirty-three years. He also was a volunteer firefighter for North
Union Volunteer Fire Department.
Besides working long hours, Jim loved to golf and watching
Steelers football. He also was a great neighbor, cutting everyone’s grass and
shoveling the sidewalks. What Jim loved the most was his wife, his kids, and
his grandchildren (and the dogs too).
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 38 years
Stefanie S. (Riba) Stramat; his three children: Tiffanie S. Kessler and
husband, Paul, Reba L. Stramat, and Zachary J. Stramat; grandchildren, Ruby and
Patrick Kessler; brother Charles L. Stramat and wife Bonnie; sister Margaret A.
Pisano; father-in-law Steve P. Riba; nieces and nephew; brother-in-laws and
their wives; and many, many other extended family members.
Visitation will be held at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home,
603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401 on Sunday, December 22nd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and Monday, December 23rd from 10 AM to 12
PM. A mass of Christian burial will be
held on Monday, December 23rd at 1 PM at St. Jospeh Roman Catholic
Church, 180 Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, PA 15401.
Entombment is at Mt. St. Macrina Cemetery.
