Obituary
James “Jay” Hunter Spearman, 41, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 16, 2024, surrounded by family and friends at Advent Hospital in Daytona Beach.
Jay was born April 11, 1983, at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach. A true Ormond Beach native, Jay graduated from Seabreeze High School in 2001, where he enjoyed being a member of the football team as well as many other social and extracurricular activities. Growing up, Jay spent many days at the beach surfing. After graduation he attended the University of South Florida in Tampa. Jay worked in the commercial real estate and commercial mortgage business most of his adult life. He started his career in the family mortgage business, Gulfstream … Your Mortgage Source, but was most recently employed with Black Bear Capital Partners.
Jay is survived by his father Harry Spearman (Connie Young) of Debary, his brother Dan Spearman, his sister-in-law Neta Spearman and his niece Alaisa Spearman all of Ormond Beach, as well as many other family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Spearman.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m. at Tomoka Christian Church, 1450 Hand Ave., Ormond Beach.
