Obituary

Ilerta “Judy” June (Halderman) Laird, 80, of Bellefonte passed away December 14, 2024. She was born in Bellefonte, PA on March 25, 1944 to the late John and Bessie (McLain) Halderman. On November 26, 1960 she married Jack Leroy Laird; they remained married until his passing in 2015.

Ilerta was a member of the Houserville United Methodist Church and the State College American Legion Post #245.

Along with her parents and husband of 56 years Ilerta was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Laird; her brother, John (Sonny) Halderman and her sisters, Bessie Evans, Hilda Condo and Alice McCaslin. She is survived by her daughters, Darla Laird of Tyrone, PA, Cindy Meek of Pleasant Gap, PA and Jackie Laird of Millheim, PA; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Services are private per the family’s request. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ilerta’s honor to the animal rescue or shelter of your choice. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Haky/Georgiana Centre County Funeral Home. An online guestbook may be signed and condolences left for the family at www.hakygeorgianafh.com
