Helen Imogene Lacefield

December 19th, 1926 - October 23rd, 2024

Obituary

Mrs. Helen Imogene Lacefield, Indianapolis, passed away on the late afternoon of Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Helen was born in Prentiss, Kentucky, December 19, 1926 to John and Blanche Cardwell.
Helen was one of five children; one brother Harold Cardwell and three sisters, Dessole Frizzell, Christeen Barnett and Bonnie Squier. Helen was happily married to Edward Lacefield for 62 years.
She loved listening to Country music.
Her house was a second home to many, regardless if they were family or friends. Over the course of her life, Helen looked after and cared for her kids and grandkids.
Many family gatherings had been held at her house over the years. The kids would play games in the barn while Edward grilled fish in the driveway and Helen would set out her beloved homemade potato salad and the fruit and vegetables that were grown in her garden in the backyard.
Helen was loved by all in her family, and we are indebted to her for the many things she has done for us all these years.
She is survived by two daughters Linda Purkhiser and Brenda Lacefield and three sons Roger, Timothy and Donald along with a multitude of grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded by her husband Edward as well as her sons Michael and Jack.
We love you Very Much May You Rest in Peace.
Funeral services for Helen will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
