Obituary

George Hill, Edinburgh, IN, passed away on the afternoon of Saturday, August 5, 2023. He was 80 years old. George was born at home in Edinburgh, IN to his parents George “Whitey” Hill and Alice (Ferguson) Hill. George enjoyed playing sports all throughout his childhood. He graduated from Edinburgh High School, class of 1963. George married his wife, Judith, on October 23, 1963 and they shared 60 years of marriage together.  
George worked for the Patrick Steel Mill and the Railroad for a number of years before he began working as a Machine Operator for Amos Hills DR Webb where he was able to  retire in 2010 after over 40 years of service. George enjoyed working on old hot rods and was a member of the Edinburgh Street Eliminators for many years. He was a wonderful dancing partner for his beloved wife, Judy, for every concert they attended. Some of his favorite parts of his life had a soundtrack of Elvis Presley and artists who played on American Bandstand. George was a family oriented person; he enjoyed teaching his daughter how to roller skate and defend herself from the craziness of the world. In his free time, he enjoyed taking care of his beautiful flower garden and feeding the birds that visited his backyard. George’s persistence and strong nature will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind. 
George is survived by his wife, Judith Hill; his daughter, Cathy (Brian) Mehlek; his grandchildren, Joel Hadley and Crysti Matos; his great grandchildren, Brooklynn Hadley, Natalie Hadley, Mia Matos, Maci Matos, Damion Matos; his cousin, Libby Strunk.
George is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Allen Hill.
George will be buried privately with his family at a later date.
