Gary graduated from Clinton High School in 1958. Shortly thereafter, he honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Following his service, Gary began a career in management with Ozark Airlines, where he worked for 40 years until his retirement in 1997. Not content to fully retire, he went on to work for an additional 15 years in guest relations at McCormick Creek State Park, where he enjoyed welcoming visitors and sharing his love for the outdoors.
Gary was a member of Clinton Lodge No. 175, F&AM, and in his leisure time, he enjoyed playing golf, reading and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes football and basketball teams. He loved being outdoors and particularly took pride in mowing both his lawn at home and at Smock Golf Course in Greenwood.
Family and friends fondly remember Gary’s enthusiasm for camping, fishing, and spending winters in Zephyrhills, Florida. His homemade manicotti was a favorite, and he was known for bringing people together through his cooking and hospitality.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Judy (Fullick) Still; his children, Kim Roth and Chuck (Sandy) Still; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Dick (Robyn) Byers, Sandi (Denny) Carstensen, and Jackie Ruthart, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood. His son-in-law, Gary Buchanan, will officiate. There will be no public visitation prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those wishing to make a memorial contribution to consider the Alzheimer’s Foundation in Gary’s memory.
