Obituary
Elta Ree Hollie Bledsoe, of Chattanooga, entered into her eternal rest on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in a local hospital. She was born June 22, 1940, to parents Houston Hollie and Idella Hollie, in Camp Hill, Alabama. She was a member of Silvercrest Baptist Church. Prior to Silvercrest, Elta was a longtime member of Mount Paran Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a choir member and treasurer for the tithe funds. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Bledsoe I; and parents, Houston and Idella Hollie. Survivors include two sisters, Katie Hampton, Lula Hollie; two brothers, Franklin (Mary) Hollie, Mitchell (Deardra) Hollie; ten children, Horace (Lisa) Bledsoe II, Morris (Kenya) Bledsoe, David (Deborah) Bledsoe, Xavier Bledsoe, Deanna (Patrick) Bledsoe-Jamison, André (Stacie) Bledsoe, Kristine (Jose) Sorto, Louis (Jerian) Bledsoe, Robert (Shantele) Bledsoe and Holly Bledsoe; 34 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; many nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. Elta will lie-in-state on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon in the chapel with Pastor Randy Petersen officiating. Burial in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
