Obituary
Elsa Marineau, 66, of Coral Springs, Florida, entered eternal rest October 2nd, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Paul Marineau, as well as her children Denise Nowalk (Adrian) and Steven Fernandez (Kimberly). Also left to cherish her memory are her four grandchildren, Jade, Mason, Devyn, Logan and her mother Gladys Fuentes.
Born in Havana Cuba, Elsa moved to Miami, with her family parents when she was 9 years old. She quickly assimilated into American culture, learned English and made many friends. Her first marriage to Michael Fernandez produced her two incredible children, Denise and Steven. Her second marriage of 32 years, to Paul Marineau was filled with love, travel, family, a good glass of wine, and time on the sidelines or behind home plate cheering on her grandkids playing the sports they loved.
Elsa worked in several industries during her career: banking, real estate and most recently retail sales, where she leaves behind a number of dear friends. Elsa always thought of others before herself. She was a giving person and would go out of her way to help someone in need.
Elsa believed strongly in the power of prayer and whenever she wanted to get the “prayer machine” rolling she would often send requests for prayers to the “Little Sisters of the Holy Family”, a religious group in Sherbrooke, Canada. Her husband’s aunt Florence was a member of the order until her passing in 2014. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to them or to your favorite charity in Elsa’s name. You can get more information, including how to make tax deductible donations, at their website dedicated to their founder, the soon to be canonized Sr. Marie-Leonie Paradis, at https://www.centremarie-leonieparadis.com.
NOTE: the funeral home will include a section on the date and time of the Memorial service once we finalize the details.
Memorial Service Place will be at the home of Steven Fernandez, 7112 NW 43rd Street, Coral Springs, FL 33065.
