Obituary

Elizabeth W. “Betty” Watson, 90, of Bellefonte, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024. Born in Bellefonte, PA on October 19, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Stellard and Edna (Hall) White. She married Albert W. Watson on April 9, 1955; they remained married until his passing on August 7, 2009. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Betty attended the Cherry Grove School in Union Township and graduated from Bellefonte High School in the class of 1952. After graduation she worked at Titan/Cerro Metal Company until the fall of 1957.

When her sons were old enough, she returned to work for the Bellefonte Area School District and at the Pennsylvania State University in the Continuing Education Business Office and the Conference Center.

Betty is survived by two sons, Jonathan R. Watson (Connie) of Lewistown, PA and Roger M. Watson of Modesto, CA; one brother, Robert Lee White of Julian, PA; one granddaughter, Amanda Wright (Andrew) of Seymour, MO; one step-grandson, Christopher Stuter (Michelle) of Lewistown, PA; eight great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley White Flick Young and a brother, William Stellard White.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm and Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 10:00am – 11:00am immediately followed by a funeral service Thursday at 11:00am at the Haky/Georgiana Centre County Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801. Interment will take place at Centre County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s honor to Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes St., Bellefonte, PA or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
