Obituary
Edward Joseph Plese, age 97, passed away peacefully, leaving
behind many fond memories. Born in Granite City, Illinois, Ed lived a long and
fulfilling life. He proudly served his country during World War II, in the U.S.
Army, and was honorably discharged at the end of the war.
A lover of nature and the outdoors, Ed found joy in the
beauty of trees, flowers, and birds. His deep affection for animals, especially
dogs, was well-known among those close to him.
After retiring from Boeing Aircraft Company in St. Louis,
Missouri, Ed became an avid stock market enthusiast, dedicating himself to
monitoring the market daily. He also treasured the time spent on his boat at
Lake Ozarks with his beloved wife, Marie. In 2021, Ed moved to Florida, where
he embraced the warmth, sunshine, and the ocean he came to adore.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Marie, who
passed away in 2014. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Plese & husband,
Jim, of Daytona Beach, Florida, and his son, Richard Plese (Gennifer) of Tarpon
Springs, Florida; as well as his grandson, Christopher Plese.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church,
in Granite City, Illinois, on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., with

May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the beauty of
nature he so deeply cherished.
