Obituary
Doris Rose Gilroy Chiusano, 76, passed away peacefully at home on October 29, 2024,
surrounded by loved ones. Born on July 10, 1948, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of
Muriel (nee Cahill) and Thomas Gilroy.
Doris relocated to Florida in 1983, where she worked for Wilfred Academy Cosmetology
school as a financial advisor. She later shifted her career path and spent over 20 years
working with U-Haul. A devoted Irish Catholic, Doris cherished time with her family and had
a passion for watching Rod Stewart perform. In her later years, she found joy in her smokes
and cokes (Coca-Cola) while staying engaged with current political events, often
expressing her support for the phrase, "Make America Great Again."
She is survived by her three children, Kelly Francis Chiusano Smith, Thomas John Chiusano
(Jessica), and Corinne Theresa Chiusano Cropper. Doris also leaves behind her beloved
grandchildren: Richard Andrew Smith (Desiree), Robert Thomas Smith, Kaitlyn Rose Nicole
Smith Gillentine (Robert), Dilon Reid Cropper, Taylor Nelson, Ashlyn Kaylee-Rose
Chiusano, Thomas John Chiusano Jr., Lucianna “Lulu” Grace Chiusano, Jacob Ralph Jones,
and Jaina Mae Jones, as well as her great-grandchildren: Richard Andrew Smith Jr., Angel
Emmanuel Smith, Robert Joseph Gillentine III, and Kohen “Koko” Nelson Gillentine.
A memorial service will be held privately at a later date.

Doris will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
