Obituary
David (Dave) Allan Wilke, age 75 of Pentwater, MI passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 25, 2024 in Tavares, Florida. Dave was born in Lansing, Michigan in 1949 to Paul H C Wilke and Dorothy E Wilke. After graduating from high school, Dave enlisted in the Army. He served 19 months during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Sergeant. While serving his country, Dave was awarded various medals and badges, including a Purple Heart and a Silver Star. When Dave retired from America Sunroof Company after 25 years, he got his contractor's license and started his own business. Dave's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved the babies. Dave enjoyed the outdoors and spent as much time as he could fishing, hunting, camping and traveling with family and friends. Dave was also very competitive and loved playing card games with anyone who would play. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Paul H C Wilke and Dorothy E Wilke, sisters Collette Knutzen and Paulette Laing, brother-in-law Carl Laing, and granddaughter Serenity Allen. He is survived by his wife Jo Wilke, children Robert P Lauer, Heather M White, David A Dyer (Misty), Joshua D. Wilke (Katherine), and Bradley J. Wilke; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, John P. Wilke, sisters, diane Porter (Larry) and Deborah Becker (Gary). Dave is also survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and longtime friends. A graveside celebration of Dave's life will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 12:00pm at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens - 4444 W. Grand River Avenue - Lansing, Michigan 48906.
