David H. Wallace

It is with our great sorrow to announce the passing of David H. Wallace, 82. David went home to be with his Lord & Savior, Thursday August 18, 2022

David was born May 30, 1940 to Henry T. & Dorothy (Twigg) Wallace and to Henry's great sorrow Dorothy passed away at childbirth.. Henry was left to care for David and his five siblings. Soon after, Henry met and married Clara Elsie (McIntire) and Clara raised David as her own son.

David will be missed greatly by his family and all those who knew him as a friend.

David attended Muncie Central High School before enlisting in the Armed Forces. He served one year in the Army and moved back to Muncie. David went to work first at Warner Machine, the Ball Corporation and to end his career at the United States Postal Service totaling 45 years. David was a wonderful provider for his family.

David finished well here on this earth before going to his eternal home in Heaven. He left behind his wife of 62 years Phyllis Wallace, three daughters Kimberly (Jerry) Wright, Cathy Golden and Kristy (Rick) Kelly; eight grandchildren Markus (Katy) Zurlino, Marlee (John) Lay, Amanda (Kyle) Briar, David Golden, Derek (Aya) Kelly, Ariel (Cody) Barenbrugge, Cassie Kelly and Jared (Sarah Powell) Gambrel and 13 great grandchildren, two siblings Alice Prine and Rebecca Jenkins and several nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Clara Wallace; 4 brothers Bob Wallace, Donald Meranda, George Wallace and Bill Wallace; two sisters Thelma Patton, and Doris Meranda and a special cousin Phyllis Hart.

Funeral services for David will be held Thursday August 25, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Union Chapel Ministries at 4622 N. Broadway, Muncie, IN. 47303 with Pastor Glenn Greiner officiating. Family and friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at Union Chapel Ministries. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery,
