LCDR Daniel Patrick Kennedy

Daniel P. Kennedy, LCDR, USN, Ret., flew his last mission to his heavenly home port on Thursday, February 9, 2023. He was born December 17, 1929, in West Palm Beach, FL. to Daniel Taylor and Elizabeth Kennedy Taylor. Dan lived a life full of adventure, service and love.
He was a longtime Scoutmaster of troop 353 in Rockledge, FL., served his church as a Eucharistic Minister, Parochial School Board member and 3rd degree Knight of Columbus.
In 1947, Dan enlisted in the US Navy and ultimately earned his wings and a commission in 1955. His missions included: support for the Gemini space flights, flying over the North Pole and several missions into Vietnam and Southeast Asia. He retired in 1969 with 22 years’ service as a Lieutenant Commander. Dan then went to College on the GI bill and graduated in 1972 from Florida Technological University (now UCF) then taught school in Brevard County, FL. for 20 years. After retirement he was an avid golfer, woodworker and motor home travel enthusiasts.
He will be fondly remembered by his wife of 67 years Nancy Jackson Kennedy of Port Orange, FL. Sons Daniel JR. and wife Kesti of Titusville, Fl., Michael and his wife Lupe of Port Orange, FL. and Daughter Phyllis and her husband Joseph Thibideau of Titusville, FL. Plus, four grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
