Obituary
Tony Muse, 68, of Parkland, FL entered into eternal rest on Sunday January 9, 2022. He is survived by his Wife of 25 years, Annette Muse, as well as his children Jessica, Dana and Nicholas. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren Zoë and Charlotte. He is preceded in death by his sibling Ricky.
Tony was born on July 29, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York to his parents Van and Naomi. He was a scholar at Thomas More College of Liberal Arts in New Hampshire, moving on to Harvard University to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics in 1975.
Tony enjoyed a long, successful career with the U.S. Department of State, most recently as Director of the Regional Information Management Center in Florida. This senior role followed a number of important postings in senior information management positions in Mexico, Australia, Côte d’Ivoire, Afghanistan, Kenya, Iraq and Germany, and as Deputy Chief Information Officer of the State Department in Washington, DC. Prior to embarking on his federal government career, Tony worked in the public and private sectors with roles across marketing, finance and operations at Wang Laboratories, Prudential Insurance Company, International Business Machines and the State of Illinois Insurance Department. In all of these professions and postings, Tony was highly regarded and respected as a colleague and a friend.
Tony was generous and kind, forever and selflessly giving to others. No task was ever too large or too small, especially if it could help those around him. Tony was a very intelligent, witty and interesting man with many achievements and a huge knowledge of topics ranging from politics and history to music and most any good film ever made. Tony was rightly proud of his children and his family, who will miss him dearly. He was an inspiration to all those close to him.
