Anna Marie Myers

Obituary

Anna Marie Myers passed away peacefully at home in Greenwood, Indiana on Saturday, February 18, 2023, after a 6 year victory with breast cancer.
Anna was born in 1959 in Kansas City, Ks. to parents of German descent, Vincent Weber and Frances Loftiss. She was the middle child of three very close sisters, Leah and Francie. Anna graduated from Oak Park High School in 1977 in Gladstone, Mo. Subsequently, she established a fine rewarding 30 year career in the Real Estate Title and Escrow Profession in addition to owning her own women’s fitness facility in Greenwood, Indiana.
Anna’s stepchildren from her marriage (1993 to 2023) to Thomas Myers, Joseph Myers (Hollywood, Ca.) and Caitlin Myers, (Greenwood, IN.), brought her much joy. With her family she enjoyed traveling, surprise vacations, summer pool parties, studying Spanish with them, riding bikes as a young family, taco bell nights with the kids because Tom refused to eat there, and home decorating on a Martha Stewart level. She found much pleasure in cooking and hosting absolutely amazing legendary parties for friends and family. Especially memorable are family trips to Minnesota, Washington with Grandma Weber and Grand Lake of the Cherokees with the Weber family.
Anna also treasured trips with Tom and their friends Mike and Erin Wood in later years to The Palafitos on Maroma Beach in Mexico. She shared a very special friendship with the staff there who always were quick to hug her with a true, “Welcome Home” as she arrived and a tear in their eye as she departed.
Having lived within but a few miles of her childhood home her entire life, in 2000, she faithfully supported and encouraged Tom when he was presented a great opportunity in Omaha, Ne. Three short years later he got a call from Carpenter Realtors. Her immediate response was, “I will never live in Indianapolis, don’t even talk to me about it”. Twenty years later, it was indeed her home and a place she found many to love and laugh with.
In January 2017, Anna began experiencing strange symptoms. She was eventually diagnosed at Community South Cancer Center with breast cancer. Her disease progressed over the following 6 years. Her worsening symptoms resulted in the loss of her career but NOT her travel itinerary, determination, faith or spirit.
Anna will always be missed by her mother Frances Weber, sister Leah McWilliams, brother-in-law Mark. Nieces Alexandra and Emily, Nephews Ben, Mitch, David, Jack, Adam, and Evan and many more.
She was devoted wife and lives on in the hearts of Thomas Myers and loving stepchildren Joseph Myers (Hollywood, Ca.) and Caitlin Myers (Greenwood, IN.) … most importantly and most proudly, those to whom she was SUPER OMA, Dylan, Eli, Emma and Alayna!
A Rocking Memorial Celebration will be held Saturday, February 25, 7 pm at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Bargersville, IN., 5171 W. Smokey Row Road. All friends are invited and encouraged. Service followed by display and sale of the paintings she did over the past few years. Proceeds of sale will go to Community South Cancer Center and/or American Cancer Society. Please, no black clothing, wear something celebratory! Donations only to Mt Olive Quilting Fund.
