In Loving Memory of

Albert "Robert" Kennedy

October 26th, 1936 - October 26th, 2022

Obituary

Albert “Robert” Kennedy, Greenwood, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, October 26th on his 86th birthday. Robert was born on October 26, 1936, in Manchester, England, son of the late Phillip Robert Kennedy and Florence Muriel Kennedy (St. George).

Robert immigrated to the United States from England in 1968 and later became a naturalized citizen.  He remained grateful to be a U. S. citizen and for all the opportunities it provided him and his family. He worked as a Tool & Die Maker and retired from RCA in 1998 after 20 years of service. One of his favorite projects with RCA was working on the development of flat screen TVs.

During retirement, Robert enjoyed working in his garage making a variety of gadgets to make life easier such as back scratchers, walking canes, and bird houses.  He was happiest when he was using his creative mind to plan and build useful inventions, and he loved sharing his inventions with others.  Robert was a huge Colts fan and was often seen wearing his Colts sweatshirt.  He also enjoyed meeting new people and playing the odds at his local casinos.

His neighbors meant a lot to him, and he loved sitting on his front porch greeting friends as they walked past.  Robert had a wonderful sense of humor and loved joking with everyone.  He spent the last 8 months at Brookdale Buck Creek Senior Living Facility where the staff loved him and provided exceptional care, along with the Pro-Medica Hospice team for the past few months.  The family would like to share their appreciation for all the kindness and support his neighbors and caregivers have provided.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his wife, Elizabeth, “Betty”, and his brother, David.  Robert is survived by his daughter, Debra (Keith) Kennedy-Wamer, his son, Richard (Wendy) Kennedy, and his grandchildren, Kelcie, Adam, Emily, Erica, and Andrew, his stepdaughter Deborrah “Debbie” Jackson, his step grandchildren, Julie (Jeff) and Tina (Harold), and step-great-grandchildren Kayla, Kameron, Olivia, Ivan, and Claire.

A memorial service and entombment will be held at 11am on Thursday, November 3rd at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Ben Franklin Chapel, Greenwood, Indiana.    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brookdale Buck Creek Senior Living Activities Fund. 3270 Middle Urbana Road, Springfield, Ohio, 45502
