Obituary
Jerry Wayne Crabtree, 78, of DeLand, Florida passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024 in Orange City, Florida. He was born on September 3, 1946 in Jefferson, Kentucky to Willis Frank Crabtree and Zelmer Irene (Poteet) Crabtree.
Jerry loved fishing and hogging the one spot at every fishing hole. He loved painting and feeding the squirrels at home. Jerry had a running joke with his daughter Angela about being able to tell his paintings from Bob Ross's painting's. He also loved being the head pirate of the family. He was a loving father to Angela Schmehl and Jeff Crabtree, and loving grandfather to Casey Schmehl, Kirsten Miller, and Britanee Crabtree. He was also a loving great-grandfather to Riley Miller. He was a loving brother to all his siblings Anita Arnold, Susie Crabtree, Ellie Crabtree, Sonia Crabtree, Larry Crabtree, Royce Crabtree, Donnie and Ronnie Crabtree and Charles Crabtree.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela (Steven) Schmehl; his grandchildren, Britanee Hunter, Kirsten Miller, and Casey Schmehl; his great-granddaughter, Riley Miler; his sisters Anita Arnold, Susie Crabtree; and his brothers Royce Crabtree, Charles Crabtree and Donnie Crabtree and Larry Crabtree.
Jerry is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Crabtree; and his parents, Willis Frank Crabtree and Zelmer Irene (Poteet) Crabtree.
Jerry will be very missed by all.
A visitation for Jerry will held at Lohman Funeral Home – DeLand on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 11:00 am, with a funeral service following at 12:00 pm. Interment will take place after the funeral services at DeLand Memorial Gardens.
